The Situation:
You want to learn what the rich
teach their kids about money that the poor and middle class do
not. You want your children to learn the concepts of wealth accumulation.
Your family enjoys playing games together and why not try one
that can teach productive and lasting financial strategies.

Robert Kiyosaki and his co-author
Sharon L. Lechter wrote Rich Dad/Poor Dad. This delightful real-life
parable explains the difference of working for someone or having
your money work for you. The book is very successful and he wanted
to provide more tools to teach and reinforce the strategies of
Rich Dad/Poor Dad. Thus, the two games; Cashflow 101 ($195) for
adults and Cashflow for Kids ($39) for children.

To test these games out in real
life, I invited my magician friends, Scott Davis and Greg Gillis,
along with their new wives, Shari Davis and Tammy Gillis to come
play the game for real. It was a fun evening for all.

Scott says I found Cashflow
101 extremely challenging and educational. It appears to offer
a clear road map to wealth through passive income. The game
pieces are little Rat people, because most of us live
in a rat race. The object of the game is to get out of the Rat
Race by buying enough income producing stocks and/or properties
to get on the Fast Track. The first one to do that
wins!
Next, I tried out the childrens
game with Will Hastings, 6; Lindsey Hastings, 8; Alecia Briscoe
12, and Whitney Campbell, 12. They were encouraged to buy rental
property or income producing stocks with their income.

One of the things I like about
both games is that they teach the way two important tools work.
Each player has a balance sheet and an income statement. The players
learn to understand assets and liabilities and how they can create
wealth.
