“Everything You’ll Ever Need to Get Anything You’ll Ever Want”

Persuasion is the art of getting people to see things your way.  It comes from a combination of skills.

Learn to play the persuasion game:  Use psychological pressure points that cause one person to be influenced by another.  Such hidden persuaders are
  1. People can be persuaded if they think you can reward them
  2. People can be persuaded if they think you can punish them
  3. People can be persuaded if you have bonded with them
  4. People can be persuaded if you act consistently=people learn to trust you
When you ask for more than you expect to get:
  1. You might just get it.
  2. It gives you room to negotiate.
  3. It lets the other person have a win.
To gain cooperation, there is a three-step formula:
  1. Tell a secret,
  2. Make a confession, and
  3. Ask a favor.
Analyze the other person:
  1. Know how people will react to what you tell them

                                                               i.      They will be motivated by the possibilities of your proposal or by the perceived necessity of making a move

  1. People are either persuaded by self-interests (internal sorters) or by concern for

      others (external sorters)

  1. Assertive people make decisions quickly.  Unassertive people are slow decision

                        makers.

Characteristics of a Power Persuader are:
  1. Charisma is the quality that makes people like you.  It is not related to good looks.
  2. Charisma is nonverbal as is 55% of our ability to communicate.  It is embracing the world around us.
Magical persuasion techniques are:
  1. Use the other person’s name at the beginning or end of a sentence.
  2. Make your request
    1. Tilt your head and smile as you say it.
